I just had a similar experience. Only I had a kids party for my 42nd b’day.

First of..wow, wish more men worried about finding the right gift for the person they “like” I’m one of the lucky ones, My hubby is great with gifts for me.
Anyhow, I don’t know a thing about texas. Only been there once, don’t even remember where it was (I was little) just remember it was HOT. So, you say this nurse is from S.D. Cali-first thought that came to mind was the beach. (clueless to where Amarillo, Tx. is located) (yes, I have heard of it)If there is anyway you could make a picnic area look like a beach. I’m sure you don’t want to make it all romantic, seeing how you say you are shy, that might make it uncomfortable for you. You could haul in some sand, find some seashells (dollar store is a good place to look)Just think beach.. frisbe, buckets, vollyball, anything you might do when you go to the beach..I’m sure she misses the sound, smell, taste of the beach. Anyone from SD would miss it. Or if you don’t want to go all out with a picnic beach theme. Just a big, gift bag full of beach things. Sand in a pretty bottle, candle seashells,you can even buy the smell of the beach LOL (perfume) CD with the sound of the ocean and seagulls, ..etc..sorry kind of rambling, not sure I’m making to much sense..hope you understand what I’m saying..anyhow..best of luck to ya. Hope ya let us know what you end up doing for her
